New Submission flow

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Answers: What are the steps in the New Submission modal? Why is Continue disabled? How do I enter multiple locations? Can I save and resume? How do I request more than one limit? When should I fill it in by hand?

Every path into the platform — email, upload, or starting from scratch — walks through the same New Submission flow: name the submission, pick coverages, set coverage details, answer the risk questions, and go to market. For the different ways to get here, see Ways to start.

If your submission originates in the platform, you can upload documents to have the insured's information extracted automatically, or enter details by hand if you don't have anything to attach.

The steps

  1. Click New Submission from your submissions list.

  2. Complete Submission Details. Name the submission (use the insured's name — it's what you'll search for later), optionally set the owner, submitter, and status, and continue.

  3. Select Coverages. Your product line is set when you create the submission; for management liability, tick the sub-coverages to include (D&O, EPL, fiduciary, crime, kidnap & ransom). See Coverage selections.

  4. Fill in Coverage Values. Enter the coverage values you're requesting — effective date and limit. See Coverage selections for what's allowed. For lines of business that support it, this is where you can request more than one limit option at once. These are requests, not guarantees: a carrier may quote at the closest value it supports rather than the exact one you asked for.

  5. Answer the Application Form. Every question is required and marked with a red asterisk. If your agency has a Defaults profile configured, a Defaults dropdown appears here, above your markets — pick a profile and click Apply Defaults to fill any blank questions; see Defaults and pre-filled answers.

  6. Click Go to Market.

While you answer, some answers trigger follow-up questions in real time — no save needed — so the form may grow as you go. That's normal; see Why the question set changes. Some questions apply only to a subset of your selected markets; the Relevant for N markets hint on each question tells you which.

When everything required is filled, Go to Market sends the submission to your carriers and you land on the market view with quotes loading.

Saving a Submission

A draft submission is created the moment you start the modal. To save an incomplete submission, use Save and Exit — it stays in your submissions list with the Draft status, and you resume by opening it.

Entering multiple locations, domains, or principals

Some questions accept multiple values (locations, web domains, principals). The form provides one entry row for these; to get more than one value into a submission, use the approaches in Troubleshooting: one row for multiple values.

Why is Continue or Go to Market disabled?

  • Continue (coverage step): no coverage line selected yet.

  • Go to Market: a question is unanswered or invalid — they turn red when you click. If it still fails with nothing highlighted, see Troubleshooting: Go to Market is blocked.
